About Me
My approach to Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork comes from the nearly 30 years of experience beginning in Mancos Colorado in 1989 with a class and certification in Bio Magnetic treatment training and Reiki, from there my study of a Wholistic and Natural approach to health and healing truly began.
Once a former competitive bodybuilder, powerlifter, and Taekwondo sparring competitor in college. I understand the need for rapid recovery and healing. A wholistic approach and treatment are always uniquely individual to each client. Beginning my career in Bodywork in 1989, receiving training in Bio-magnetics and Reiki led to establishing and learning many modalities of treatment work and healing to aid in recovery and restoration. Working in the 90’s as a personal trainer and health coach, a body wrap technician at a diet center and gym, all of which centered on health and wellness. After graduating from the Barlen Institute of Education, and continuing specialist work with Seattle Massage School and Central Washington University, and opening my own healing arts center where Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork were complimented with alternative medicine methods and procedures for focus on client needs for Body Mind and Spirit. Training and recieving an instructor’s certification for therapeutic and sports massage, I continued to focus to teach students the importance of listening to the client. While working with college athletes and coaches from various college teams; football, baseball, women’s and men’s rugby team, soccer, running and cycling sports, MMA competitors, college and professional rodeo competitors from all over the country, I built a sports massage team that attended sporting events around the State and provided sports massage for athletes in several different venues. This is where I began developing Athletic Recovery Therapies to assist seasoned athletes and weekend warriors with a speedy recovery and limited down time. Later working with a team of professional surgeons, chiropractors, physical therapists and like-minded individuals implementing a wholistic approach working with soldiers coming back from overseas that were post-surgical amputees. Working with integrated therapies on post-surgical amputees, pre-prosthetic and post-prosthetic clients. This was the most gratifying time in my career to have been able to give back to those that had given so much, the American soldier. I feel honored and humbled that I was able to assist with the healing process and rehabilitation of these great men and women.
Moving back to the 4 Corners area, I have been able to introduce different modalities of therapy and healing to this community.
I'm always learning and trying new healing treatments. I'm proud to announce the addition of a favorite treatment the ancient elements Therapy of Massage Cupping, Medi Cupping/VacuCupping. This training based on newer science with the Vacu cupping and Medi cupping therapies stems from reliable ancient techniques.
